About Conway
I’ll never forget the drive up to Conway that crisp autumn afternoon – leaves swirling like confetti on the A55, and me cursing under my breath when we hit a cheeky traffic jam just past Colwyn Bay. Turned out it was some roadworks, but honestly, it gave us time to belt out a few dodgy renditions of Welsh folk tunes on the radio, turning a minor faff into a proper laugh. By the time we rolled into Llandudno, the sun was dipping low, painting the bay in those golden hues that make you think, “Yeah, this was worth the hold-up.”

Pulling up to our holiday spot, I was buzzing with that proper arrival anticipation – you know, wondering if it’d live up to the pics. First impressions? Spot on. It’s this cracking contemporary pad settled right in the seaside town, perfect for mates or family wanting a coastal breather amid Conway’s countryside vibes. Loads of local amenities and attractions on the doorstep, off-road parking to boot, and inside, it’s all neutral tones – whites, blacks, and sage – that feel dead cosy without being fussy. The kitchen’s a belter, spacious with home-from-home gear and a breakfast bar ideal for plotting the day over coffee, all offset by that original parquet flooring that gives it a wee bit of character.

Autumn really made the whole trip sing. Those cooler mornings had us layering up for brisk walks along Llandudno’s promenade, the sea breeze nipping at our cheeks while the pier’s lights twinkled early against the fading light. We’d grab fish and chips from a nearby spot – proper crispy batter, none of your soggy nonsense – and scoff them on the benches, watching the waves crash under a sky streaked with russet and amber. One day, we wandered over to Conway’s medieval castle, just a short hop away, where the falling leaves carpeted the battlements like nature’s own tapestry. It felt magical, the chill air sharpening every sense, and I couldn’t help but reflect on how I’d been rushing through life back home – this was a gentle nudge to slow down and just breathe it in.

Evenings were pure hygge, as the other half calls it. We’d hunker down in the lounge, firing up the oven for a roast – that kitchen made it a doddle – with the windows fogging up from the warmth inside clashing with the misty dusk outside. One night, a soft drizzle pattered down, turning the whole scene misty and romantic; we played board games till late, mugs of tea in hand, giggling over my rubbish Monopoly moves. “You’re hopeless at this,” my mate teased, and I had to admit she was right – a rare moment of self-awareness amid the fun.

The season wrapped it all in this mellow glow – fewer crowds meant we had Bodafon Farm Park almost to ourselves one afternoon, feeding the animals as the trees turned fiery shades. No summer scrum, just that peaceful Welsh autumn vibe. Driving home, I was already plotting a return, maybe for bonfire night next time. Conway in the autumn? It’s got my heart. Proper tonic for the soul.
