About Llandudno
I’ll never forget the drive up to Llandudno – what was meant to be a straightforward jaunt from Manchester turned into a proper comedy of errors. Sat-nav decided to play silly beggars, rerouting us through some winding back lanes in the Conway Valley that had me white-knuckling the wheel while my other half fiddled with the radio for distraction. Then, just as we hit the outskirts, a sudden downpour hit, turning the A55 into a bit of a skidpan. We pulled over for a brew at a services, only for me to spill half my coffee down my shirt. Charming start, right? By the time we rolled into town centre, I was damp, grumpy, and questioning why we hadn’t just stayed home with a Deliveroo.

But oh, the anticipation had been building for weeks – visions of crashing out in a proper seaside pad after months of slog at work. Pulling up outside this wonderful Victorian two-storey apartment nestled right in the heart of Llandudno, all that chaos melted away. First impressions? Bloody brilliant, actually. The place is spot on for a seaside resort vibe – far-reaching views across the town from the upstairs windows, and you’re less than a five-minute stroll from the beach. High street’s practically on the doorstep too, buzzing with independent shops, cosy pubs, and restaurants that smell like heaven even from afar.

Stepping inside felt like a warm hug. It’s a charming large apartment, wonderfully appointed, and there on the kitchen counter was this delightful welcome pack: Welsh cakes still warm-ish, fresh milk, and a bottle of wine that screamed “uncork me now”. We dumped the bags, collapsed onto the leather sofas, and fired up the electric fire – perfect for shaking off the winter chill. That first evening, we proper curled up with a family movie night, munching on those treats and pretending the world outside didn’t exist. The views twinkled with town lights, and you could hear the faint crash of waves if you listened hard.

Next morning, still buzzing from the great first impressions, we wandered down to the promenade. Llandudno’s pier was calling – grabbed fish and chips wrapped in paper from a stall, dodged the seagulls like pros (one dive-bombed my chips, the cheeky sod), and watched the Irish Sea do its moody thing. Popped into a few high-street gems too – a quirky bookshop for a rainy-day read, then a pub for a pint of local ale. It’s all so handy from the apartment; no faffing about with cars.

Looking back, that messy arrival was a right laugh in hindsight – taught me not to sweat the small stuff. This spot’s ideal for recharging, whether it’s beach walks along North Shore, a mooch around the high street, or just holing up with loved ones. If you’re after a proper Welsh seaside escape without the hassle, this is it. Can’t wait to go back.
