About Llandudno
Pulling into the holiday park just outside town felt like winning the lottery. It’s one of those cracking spots in Kinmel Bay, dead central for everything – couples, mates, or families like ours will love the easy access. Two minutes’ stroll to the beach, and two minutes more to all the park’s amenities: the pool, arcade, that chippy wafting temptation. Our place was a cosy static caravan, modern inside with all the home comforts – nothing fancy, but spot-on for kicking back. First impressions? Magic. We tumbled out, still chuckling about the Jaffa Cake apocalypse, and there it was: the Irish Sea sparkling under a proper blue sky, the Great Orme looming like a friendly giant in the distance. We dumped the bags and legged it straight to the beach – soft sand underfoot, waves lapping gently. The kids built epic sandcastles while we grabbed ice creams from the nearby kiosk, vanilla cornets dripping faster than you could lick. Llandudno’s pier was calling too, just a short walk along the prom – all those flashing slots, donkey rides, and the smell of doughnuts frying. We wandered the bustling high street later, popping into independent shops for fudge and rock, dodging seagulls that eyed our bags like pros. Dinner was fish and chips wrapped in paper, eaten on a bench watching the sun dip behind the bay – pure bliss after our chaotic arrival. That first evening, sitting on the caravan deck with a cuppa, I had a proper moment of reflection. Life’s mad dash sometimes, isn’t it? We’d arrived in a flap, covered in crumbs, but look at us now – salty hair, rosy cheeks, utterly content. No five-star hotel could beat this unpretentious vibe. The park’s playground kept the kids happy till bedtime, and we crashed out knackered but grinning. If you’re after that classic British seaside escape – sand, sea, and a bit of harmless mayhem – this is the spot. Can’t wait to go back. |
