About Llandudno
Pulling up to the property, I let out a proper sigh of relief. It’s this gorgeous Victorian-style terraced house, all elegant lines and welcoming vibes, right in the thick of things with the sea air hitting you like a tonic. First impressions? Spot on. The views over the bay towards those majestic Snowdonia peaks had us grinning like kids – we dumped the bags and cracked open a bottle of fizz on the balcony before we’d even unpacked. We were after a chilled-out couple’s break, no grand plans, just soaking up that cottage life chaos in the best way. Mornings kicked off with brekkie in the sunny kitchen – I burned the toast once (classic me), but who cares when you’ve got fresh scones from the bakery down the road? We’d wander the prom hand-in-hand, dodging seagulls eyeing our chips, then flop on the sandy beach at low tide, building daft sandcastles that inevitably got flattened by the waves. There’s something magic about those simple pleasures – the rhythm of the sea, the salt on your lips, forgetting the world back home. Afternoons meant ambling to the local shops for picnic bits: crusty bread, local cheese, and a slab of bara brith that was pure heaven. We’d picnic in the little park overlooking the Straits, watching boats bob about, or treat ourselves to fish and chips from a spot that’s been frying since forever. One evening, we stumbled on a tiny café doing cream teas – I slathered mine so thick with jam it dribbled everywhere, and we collapsed into giggles like we were on our first date. Of course, there was the gentle mayhem of settling in. The first night, we couldn’t find the remote for the telly, leading to a full-on treasure hunt that ended with it wedged behind the sofa. Proper cottage vibes! It made me pause for a mo – life’s so hectic usually, rushing about with work and all that. Here, in this cosy nook, it was a reminder to slow down, savour the quiet moments with the one you love. No kids screaming, no emails pinging, just us, the sea, and a bit of happy disorder. By the end of the week, we were proper hooked on Llandudno’s charm – those easy strolls to pubs for a pint of Brains, the sunset hues painting the mountains pink. Leaving felt bittersweet, but we’re already plotting a return. If you fancy ditching the daily grind for some seaside bliss, this is the spot. Pure relaxed magic. |
