About Plas Nev.

St Davids, the UK's smallest city, lies on Wales' far southwest coast. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II, it boasts a magnificent 12th-century cathedral and the ruins of the Bishop's Palace. Nestled in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, it offers unique shops, tea rooms, pubs and stunning coastal scenery. Enjoy Whitesands Bay beach, coastal path walks with varied views, local buses for planning, dolphin spotting from land or boat trips, and birdwatching. Ideal for relaxing breaks, walking, golf, castle explorations, Oakwood Theme Park or farm parks.

A church has stood here since the 6th century, making it Britain's oldest cathedral settlement. The Gatehouse exhibits its history; the adjacent Bell Tower has a ring of ten bells. Partly accessible with wheelchairs; gift shops.

About St Davids
I finally made it to St Davids after what felt like the world's most chaotic drive down from Carmarthen. Picture this: I'm belting along the A40, singing along to some dodgy 90s playlist, when the satnav decides to throw a wobbly right in the middle of nowhere. It reroutes me down these tiny, hedge-lined lanes that wouldn't look out of place in a horror film—branches scraping the sides of the car, and me panicking about scratching the hire job. Then, to top it off, I miss the turning into town and end up doing a three-point turn in front of a flock of bemused sheep. Classic me, turning a two-hour trip into a comedy of errors. But as I crested that last hill and spotted the cathedral's spire poking up against the Pembrokeshire sky, all the stress melted away. St Davids has this magical pull, doesn't it? I was buzzing with anticipation, imagining cosy evenings by the fire after rambling along the coastal path.

Pulling up outside the holiday bungalow, I was hit with the best first impressions—it's this cracking semi-detached gem right in the heart of town, single-storey and ever so welcoming. No faffing with stairs after a long drive, which was a godsend. I fumbled the keys at the door (hands still shaking from the sheep incident), but once inside, it was pure bliss. The living/dining room is spot on for kicking back—electric fire flickering away, telly for catching up on Corrie, and WiFi to post a quick "made it!" on Insta. Kitchen's kitted out nicely too; I rustled up a cuppa straight off, feeling like I'd stumbled into someone's lovely home rather than a rental.

With the double bedroom for me and the single with trundle for mates (or kiddos if they'd come), plus that bath with shower over for a proper soak, it screamed "relax here." First evening, I wandered out to the cathedral close—just a stone's throw away—and grabbed fish and chips from the chippy on High Street. Sat on the bench by St Non's Well at dusk, munching away, watching the light fade over the bay. Bloody brilliant, even if I did spill vinegar down my top in the wind.

Next morning, after a lie-in that felt criminal, I headed to Whitesands Bay for a bracing walk. Waves crashing, seals bobbing about—proper postcard stuff. Back at the bungalow, I reflected on how daft I'd been stressing the drive; holidays like this are what reset the soul, aren't they? No grand plans, just ambling to Oriel y Parc for a bit of art, pub lunch at The Grove, and evenings plotting tomorrow's puffin-spot at Ramsay Island viewpoint. It's the simple chaos that makes it memorable—messy arrival and all. Can't wait to go back.
